Raised on a diet of Slim-Jims and comic books, R. Scott Quick spent much of his childhood visiting his grandparents in Camden, Missouri. In 1996, he attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, New Jersey, after which he scratched a career out of video game animation. At the turn of the century, he was treated for what psychiatrists believe may be the first case of In Barra Vite, or chronic embarrassment over one’s very existence.
Retired from animation, Quick now draws this strip from a sanitarium just outside of Saint Louis, Missouri, visited frequently by his dutiful wife and son.

Pretty cool! I was told by another UCM alum that I should look you up. I am a member of a group that draws every Sat. at a coffee shop down town KC. You should come hang out.
Email me and we can talk.
thanks,
Ed
Ed, Glad you liked it- I’ll do that very thing, thanks! SQ
Great stuff Scott!
Thanks! Good to hear from you- SQ
Dude, I believe you’re giving yourself too much nutritional credit. If I recall th’ old trailer court accurately, you were raised on Cheetoh’s, Lucky Strikes and Diet Dr Pepper.
Oh, those were the days! How we laughed! We were happier then, because we were poor!
Hi Scott,
I was looking through your blog and fell in love your sketch from November 1st 2010 titled “Queazy Piano”. I was wondering if you would allow me to use the sketch of the piano for the image artwork on my CD. In exchange for your permission in using this sketch on my CD, I would be happy to send you a copy of it when it is complete. I hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks for checking out my sketches, Elijah. I will respond to your question about the piano drawing via e-mail. -SQ
Enjoyed meeting you, enjoyed the book and sketch in back.
Hello Mr. Quick, I met you at last year’s SFAL and talked to you about doing an interview and here we are a year later and SFAL2 is almost upon us. It is very short notice, but would you have time to answer a few questions before then or would you rather wait and schedule it for right after? If you’ll send me an email to poegeek (at) gmail (dot) com I can shoot you the interview questions.
Good to hear from you again- I’ll send you an email directly- SQ
My daughter and I really enjoyed speaking with you at SFAL2 and she GRABBED your book and was gone! lol Most of the ride back, I was hearing bits about the trans global navigation in naught but a towel story…well, at least until we ran into the tornado activity in OK City….Somewhere north of OK City, I realized we were traveling with the convoy of storm chasher trucks – that’s my chicken truckin’ luck for you, cause even I know that could be the start of a really bad roadtrip story. Hope you made it thru unscathed and we’re looking forward to the cyber trips to Camden Bottoms to fullfill our wonderlust for a while.
I’m glad you made it back safe …. we didn’t even hit any rain! I’m thrilled however, that your daughter enjoyed the book. Many thanks, Scott
