(St. Louis, MO) – With the Unions traveling more than usual in 2013, the Jefferson Barracks Nine will be playing approximately 65+ contests from a span of March through November in the upcoming year.
The vintage base ball season traditionally opens with the Goodwill Game (March 16), which will be held at the Belleville Stags home field in Swansea, IL for the first time. The Unions’ season opener will be a doubleheader on March 30 against the Rock Springs Ground Squirrels in Decatur, IL. Team workouts will begin in February.
Highlights on the Unions’ schedule in 2013 will be a first-time visit from the West Lafayette (IN) Couriers to the Gateway Arch (May 11). The Boys hit the road for a first-time trip to Clayville, IL to play Forest City (IL) and the Springfield (IL) Long Nine (May 11). A visit to the Windy City Chicago, IL to take on the Chicago Salmon and DuPage Plowboys (May 25-26).
The club is excited to get to represent St.Louis in Minneapolis, MN the following weekend (July 27-28) to take on the Gopher State’s finest, as well as our annual trip to French Lick, IN to face the best teams of Indiana.
A total of three Gateway Arch dates, including a visit on June 2 by the Indianapolis (IN) Hoosiers, Barclay Festival, Missouri Cup, a combined St. Louis team in the Ohio Cup, and annual games vs. our yearly bi-state rivals round out the schedule.
