(Saint Louis March 9, 2013 ) 12 players attended Saturdays practice, at Lurk Field in Jefferson Barracks, to prepare for the Unions 10th season. Familiar faces reunited for a another go around of the Worlds greatest game. This year’s rookie Chad Laramore, made his first appearance and impressed with his hitting and his ability to quickly adapt to playing without a glove.
“I never would had thought it was his first time out there. Chad will play for the Cicada, but quickly was invited to play with the main club for good reason.” said Cicada/Unions player Knapsack.
The squad started out with hitting practice then a match scrimmage. Later some more BP. The damp field didn’t cause any trouble as homeplate was moved up to avoid the puddles. The Unions are taking the field back from the wildlife, who this winter sprinkled the ground with reminders themselves. The practice ran from 1pm – 3:30pm.
Next weekend the club will attend the Goodwill match in Belleville hosted by the Stags.
