MARCH 28 , 2015 (ST.LOUIS)    The Unions 2015 Season officially began with a short ride to Lafayette Park. The Unions opened the first inning of their first contest Saturday against the Lafayette Square Cyclone with high hopes after tallying 6 runs on 9 hits in the 1st frame. That would continue to be the theme in Match #1 as they chased 19 runs across the plate for a 19 -3 final. But expectations for a repeat shriveled in the 2nd Match. The Cyclone held the Unions to 6 runs in the contest and made countless defensive gems to foil Union advances. However the Unions would march on to a 6 – 5 tightly played match.

Striking honors went to Jay “Rx” Martin 5 – 8, 4 runs, 4 rbi and 2 doubles.

Next up, the St Louis Unions will travel to Jackson Missouri, on Saturday April 11 for matches with the Murphysboro Clarkes and the host Jackson team. Before the game, the teams will engage in a 2 hour train excursion through the Iron Mountains of Jackson and then end up back in Jackson for some base ball. Sunday April 12 Unions take on The St Louis Perfectos 1pm start. It will be the Home season opener at Jefferson Barracks.
